Departure from San José
Departure from San José accompanied by your bilingual naturalist guide.
6:40 am.
Coffee Plantations & Mountains
While we drive, we will first see the coffee plantations, then we will head into the mountains of Braulio Carrillo National Park where steep slopes are covered with thick cloud forest and beautiful waterfalls can be seen from the road.
7:15 am.
Typical Costa Rican Breakfast
Just after Braulio Carrillo National Park we stop for a typical Costa Rican breakfast: fruit juice, coffee, eggs and the popular "Gallo Pinto".
7:45 am.
Banana Plantation
After breakfast, we will see a banana plantation, where your guide will explain the process of growing and exporting that fruit.
10:00 am.
Boat Trip into Tortuguero National Park
Later, we abandon our bus and embark on the most exciting part of this tour: the boat trip into the jungle of Tortuguero National Park, were we will learn about how nature works, and to get a real feel of our tropical humid rainforest. Covering 29,000 hectares. Tortuguero is one of the most important nesting sites of Chelonia Midas, the green sea turtle. Where its forests and waterways are home for such endangered mammals such as sloths, monkeys, agoutis, coatimundis and manatees. There are also abundant birds, such as toucans, trogons, egrets, herons and aninghas, as well as crocodiles, turtles and countless colorful butterflies, including blue morpho.

Tortuguero Hill
Our guide will take you to visit Tortguero Hill which is the highest hill in a vast area that is comprised of totally flat plains. Hence, from Cerro Tortuguero you can appreciate the landscape that surrounds the canals, the tropical rain forest, the lagoons and the Caribbean Sea. A beautiful nature and adventure tour in the heart of Tortuguero. From above you hae a beautiful view of the main canals, the town, the extensive jungles and the sea.

Caribbean Lunch
We will enjoy a typical caribbean lunch to please the hungriest of appetites.
1:40 pm.
Tortuguero Village and Beach
After lunch we will take a walk through the Tortuguero Village and beach, where we will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the town and its inhabitants.
3:30 pm.
Return to San José
Returning to the bus, we´ll head back to San José, making a rest stop along the way and arriving around 6:30 p.m.
